About me...

Kulbir Bura

I am a fully qualified practitioner and am a registered member of the B.A.C.P (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their code of ethics. The model I am trained in is Person-Centred but I work in an Intergrative way. Which means that I will draw upon a number of models to work in a more indivdual way with you. I have a wealth of experience working within the public sector supporting families and individuals.

I chose counselling as a career after having had personal counselling myself. Personal counselling allowed me to understand what was making me feel bad and helped me make sense of what was going on for me. I discovered I had choices when for so long I had believed I did not. During the process I started to feel better as I was now facing things I had locked away for a long time. Counselling also enabled me to recognise the great value of sharing my thoughts in a truly non-judgemental environment. Through my training and experience I am now able to offer insight and skills to help others to deal with and work through their own challenges and issues.

As an experienced counsellor, I can offer an environment that will allow you to discuss freely and openly how you are feeling. Counselling effectiveness depends largely on the relationship that is formed between you and your counsellor, regardless of the approach that is used. I can offer a a safe and confidential space where I neither judge nor give advice but am able to provide the right environment for you to start to process what has been going on for you.

We can sometimes find ourselves feeling depressed, confused and overwhelmed with our lives. This can leave us feeling unhappy or distressed. Counselling can offer the space to explore and discuss  issues that you may find difficult. It can reduce the confusion and allow you to make choices and changes and to deal with the difficult feelings you may be having.

I can support you to explore situations and feelings which will enable you to better understand your experiences. This can help and support you to build self-esteem and confidence, improve the ability to cope and find ways to deal with difficult situations in a more informed way.

I have experience working with...

  • Depression/Low mood

  • Anxiety/Panic Attacks

  • Stress

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Childhood Abuse

  • Relationship Issues

  • Trauma

  • Low Self Esteem
